Reflection Prompt: Summarize your learning for this term. How will you use the knowledge you have constructed to improve your use of technology for learning in your class and for your own personal and professional development?
Description: My term consisted of Instructional Technologies and Strategies for Online Teaching and Learning. I have gained valuable information from both of these classes and some of the information was cumulative and some worked together to give me a better understanding in both. I have especially learned of the TPACK model and the importance of deliberate and appropriate technology integration. I have also learned that as a technology coach, when an instructor comes to you for coaching, having a surface understanding of the content and a through understanding of their pedagogical approach, will allow you to assist in a more appropriate and deliberate way.
Impact: With a broader understanding of what is behind the integration of the technology will allow you to choose and share and ultimately instruct with a greater impact. Reaching out to meet the TF/TL standards as well as the ISTE standards for teachers, students and coaches will ensure that your delivery is of value and purpose.
Intent: I intend to review and maintain an understanding of the standards. I intend to keep up with the revisions and additions that are made to ensure that my impact as a coach/TF/TL will be of the utmost value and as a result a successful and educational experience for the students. I intend to join and follow technology communities, especially ISTE, to share and experience what others share what they learned from their experiences. I then intend to continuously adapt and develop my teaching with technology philosophy to stay current with the needs and tools as they change to make the most of their effectiveness for the teachers and ultimately the students.
